MasterCard and Brighter Planet introduced their joint program to make carbon emissions analysis easier for your business. In response to the nearly 80% of companies expressing interest in green travel initiatives, MasterCard “Carbon Emissions Reporting” feature represents the first time that automatic reporting and analysis of estimated travel-related carbon emissions data will be available through your MasterCard corporate card based on your card transactions. The “Carbon Emissions Reporting” program provides access to new data that is increasingly valued by companies as they strive to benchmark sustainability goals and initiatives, confront sustainability standards on their supply chains, and address the environmental concerns of stakeholders.

You can now make payments through your local brick-and-mortar retailers using the Square credit card reader through your Apple iPhone! Soon available at Apple’s retail stores and official website, the device allows you to plug a retailer’s reader from a retail outlet or online and insert it into the iPhone 4. Its not easy being a stay-at-home mom or dad. Childcare, homemaking, cooking… the list of chores and tasks is seemingly endless, and the hours are often punishingly long. These stresses can place such serious strains on relationships that they sometimes end in a break up.

At the moment, such strains can be alleviated by a sense of financial independence. The stay-at-home spouse or partner can have his or her own credit cards and functioning credit score, which can make the person feel less trapped and unhappy. And, if the worst does occur and the relationship ends, the process of breaking up is, in practical terms, made much easier by this financial independence.

Credit card regulation sometimes bonkers

All that could change this October if the Federal Reserve goes ahead and implements new rules that would see credit cards denied to those who cannot show that they have their own pay checks or other independent sources of income. O
